Legacy Live Oak Memorial park
Park Description
Edisto Island Open Land Trust purchased 12.4 acres located on Sand Creek and just off Highway 174 to provide a passive recreation area expanding and enhancing the portion of Legacy Live Oak Park already owned by the land trust. The property includes approximately 8.5 acres of pine forest and 5 acres of salt marsh. The park lies across Sand Creek from preserved National Audubon Society property, and just down the road from numerous other protected properties on Russell Creek Road.
Charleston County Council awarded $216,200 in Greenbelt Program funding to purchase this land to expand this public park.
